• Smuggler Class Guide

Smugglers, the old fashioned rogues or thieves, adjust to any situation whether it involves bargaining, using their charm to get what they want or taking their enemies by surprise. These faith-gamblers have their own very flexible set of rules and their shallow morality won’t impair their cravings for illegal extra profit.

The story of the Smuggler begins on Ord Mantell, a planet with a strategic position that lead to it being ruled by a corrupt government who is switching sides whenever they feel like. Ord Mantell is currently semi-abandoned and poorly organized, which makes it the perfect place for conducting illegal trades and operations.

The smuggler uses as main resource for its abilities, energy. It's also important to know that the smuggler's Empire "mirror" is the Imperial Agent, who uses the same cover mechanic and has similar abilities in terms of effect.

    Advanced Classes

Let’s take a look over Smuggler’s Advanced Classes:Gunslinger and Scoundrel.

The Gunslinger is the master of the trick shot, using two blasters at once and specializing in long-range combat. The Scoundrel is specialized in survival, using a stealth belt, a scatter gun and a med pack.

    Gunslinger Trees

Saboteur - The Gunslinger learns how to use deadly explosives enhanced through advanced technologies which can inflict large amounts of damage to multiple enemies at once (DPS skill tree).

Sharpshooter - Allows the Gunslinger to focus on his cover abilities, improving his long range damage abilities (DPS skill tree).

    Scoundrel Trees

Sawbones - The Scoundrel learns to apply medicine and damage protection to restore the life of his allies and support them in combat (healing skill tree).

Scrapper - The Scoundrel specializes in the use of scatterguns to perform high-amounts of burst damage to his enemies (melee DPS skill tree)

The shared tree is Dirty Fighting. These tactics leave no trick off-the-table and often leave an enemy bleeding or crippled.

    Species

The playable species for the Smuggler are Human, Twi’lek, Mirialan, Cyborg and Zabrak.

    Primary Stat

The primary stat of the Smuggler is Cunning (increases your tech damage). Stacking as much Cunning as possible, will boost your damage for DPS skill trees and improve your healing for healer skill trees. Cunning will be your most important stat, no matter the AC / skill trees.

    Starships

The smuggler uses the Corellian XS Stock Light Freighter, which is built for speed and to transport any type of cargo throughout the galaxy, securely. The XS Freighter is one of the fastest ships in the known Galaxy.
This freighter is the perfect ship for the smuggler since it allows him to complete perfect hit and run missions.

After testing both a Consular Sage Seer and a Smuggler Scoundrel Sawbones, i have come to the conclusion that minus the force shield, they are in essence the exact same when it come to healing abilities. I prefer the smuggler because of the stealth and survivability. Also for long steady fights the smuggler can virtually heal forever without ever running out of energy where i found myself running out of force on longer fights with my consular. The main advantage for the consular is the force shield being instant cast at low levels, but further up the Sawbones tree the smuggler gets emergency medipack which looks to be amazing.

that sounds like you hit the key for passive. in this game it is a toggled stance. you need to turn it off to get them to fight again. the companion interface is a little clunky, i wish there was a hotkey for "companion attack" that i could use to quickly target an enemy and have them switch. i hate it when my companions change from the strong target to a weak one, and i get killed because of it.

when you press + button at your companion's nameplate, his skill action bar will set under your main action bar. (or you can adjust where to set it like left action bar)
you can see all of your companions abilities there, and change his stance, or whatever it is.

also all companion skills have a shortcut key, starting of CTRL+NUMBER... It was default on my settings, but ofc you can change them from preferences --> key binding tab --> action bar menu...
