• Imperial Agent Class Guide

Sometimes striking the enemy in a weak spot when he least expects it can be far more devastating than direct combat, and naturally, a lot less resource consuming. Also gathering information about the enemy’s tactics and intentions is a key aspect when deciding war strategies.

That is why the Empire created their secret weapon: the Imperial Agent. This soldier’s purpose is to infiltrate in enemy lines, take out important personalities that don’t fit the Empire’s agenda, learn valuable intelligence and pretty much everything else that needs to be done discretely.

The home planet of Imperial Agents is Hutta, which they share with Bounty Hunters. Equipped with some of the most advanced weaponry available in the Empire, the Imperial Agent will require great amounts of Energy to power up his combat abilities.

The mirror class for the Imperial Agent is the Smuggler, who possesses very similar combat tactics, yet has a more independent nature and won’t do any favors for the Republic or anyone else if it doesn’t imply personal gain.

    Advanced Classes

The Empire is aware that in spite of the Imperial Agent’s great versatility during assignments, a number of specializations are required to ensure the maximum rate of success in any type of mission.

The Imperial Agent can become an Operative and learn the secrets of stealth combat, taking their enemies by surprise or specialize in healing to support their allies.

The second Advanced Class that the Imperial Agent can choose to learn is the Sniper, which will allow them to become long range damage dealers, delivering killing blows to their opponents from stunning distances.

    Operative Trees

Concealment - Allows the Operative to improve his stealth and close-range attacks by learning deadly fighting techniques and prevent enemies from fleeing.

Medic - The Operative focuses on healing and protecting his allies during combat.

    Sniper Trees

Marksmanship - Further improves the Sniper's long-range DPS abilities that mostly rely on cover mechanics.

Engineering - Upgrades the Sniper's droids and probes, the perfect means for weakening the enemy.

Both the Operative and the Sniper can learn Lethality (shared skill tree) and improve their skills of handling poisons to cripple their enemies during long fights.

    Species

The playable species for the Imperial Agent are Human and Chiss, Zabrak, Rattataki and Cyborg.

    Primary Stat

The primary stat of the Imperial Agent is Cunning (increases your tech damage). Stacking as much Cunning as possible, will increase your damage for DPS skill trees and boost your healing for healer skill trees. Regardless of which AC you play, Cunning will be the most important stat.

    Starships

The X-70B Phantom-Class Prototype is one of the latest and most advanced starships in the present Universe. No expense was spared when the Empire developed this high-tech starship as they equipped it with radar-resistant refined exterior paneling and next-gen navigation systems which makes it highly appropriate for the critical intelligence missions that Imperial Agents have to carry out.

      Sniper Tip #1:
If you’re on 20 meter range or greater, set-up behind your cover. Using snipe on a target, and directly after use explosive bomb. Then the bomb will reach the target before the shot from snipe, meaning: the sniper shot will trigger the bomb making you bomb do instant damage. By this you can do 2x high hits in the cast time of snipe/ambush.

      Sniper Tip #2:
You can use natural cover* as a getaway tactic. This is very important in PVP. Notice your surroundings. If you are the predator hunting your pray. You can setup cover far from the next natural cover by doing this you have a huge tactical advantage. Here is why: You start loading the poor Jedi with bullets, when he reach you, you stun him, now use this far away neutral cover, making you roll instantly up to 10m away. Which would have taken you 2-3 seconds to run, in additional to the second it takes to set-up cover. You can do this and still have up to 3 second left on your stun. If you’re really like to be a monkey, you can actually roll again to a even further natural cover. I’ve managed once, to get 30 meters from my target on this strategy, before the stun was over.

*Natural cover: hide behind barrels, tree stumps, so on. Covers in the terrain.

Snipers if played correctly are unbeatable one-on-one in pvp.

Reason is they have alot of good cc and they can keep enemies at distance effortlessly.

Besides Tip#2 above for using neutral cover to gain distance over your opponent, Efficient use of CC will make ur enemies rage like little kids.

Assuming the worst case scenario.. Stealth Assassin sneaks up behind you and starts bursting you.

CC combo to counter his burst and put him down for good:

      1) Flashbang and run away to Ambush max range.
Set up ambush and follow it up with drone for about 3K dmg min. (on most assassins that will bring them to about 50-70% hp)
after your first burst immediately use snipe if you have alot of distance OR, Leg shot to further Range/stun lock the assassin.
      2) With the assassin range locked you can wait abit for cd's to refresh or keep bursting him with snipe/overcharge shot
      3) When he escapes your range lock, if he doesn't retreat and comes at you, you put a vibroknife through his chest (debilitation) to lock him further. At this point you shouldn't really be covering.. few overcharge shots (if you got the energy) followed by a Takedown, will ensure the assassins death.

I don't claim to be a pro or anything like that... but so far with almost 60 warzones played, my worst score has been 32-5 and most of my deaths come from poor positioning or mass cd's after lengthy fights.

tl-dr: Sniper's imba, expect a nerf in the near future.

Alas this does not work anymore (well not for me anyway!).

However, to get max front-end damage on a mob, lob a flashbang, then explosive probe followed by a lazed-snipe. If the target is a meleer then leg shot followed by ambush should put you into a good position.

Remember to use Slice Droid if your target group has a droid in it. SD seems to last a long time - but if your group uses a lot of AoE they will probably break the SD effect unless you can pull the droid away from the target group.

      Uhm, no.

I agree that Snipers have good CC, but that's about all I agree with.

Snipers have no stealth, no speed burst, no gap closers, and even their best attacks do not compare in damage to Sith lightning (and the Jedi equivalent).

A sniper's best melee attack "evicerate" will not work in pvp, ambush will not knock-back the target, and "cover pulse" will only work against attackers lower in level than the sniper (which means at level 16, when you get cover pulse, it will rarely work at all in pvp).

Moreover, all significant sniper attacks (with the exception of Supressive Fire) require "Cover" and the sniper will lose valuable time to set it up (i.e. in Huttball, the target is long gone or obstructed by an obstacle before the sniper ever gets to snipe it).

Oh and lets not forget that cover, as all agents are painfully aware, is very buggy at the moment.

Snipers are somewhat usable as defenders on the Alderaan and Void Star playfields, but are practically useless in Huttball.

[From a level 50 Sniper with valor 60 (and not cheated valor either)]

Aragon, you need to try out another spec, its clear that you have only been marksman with these statements. You can get a speed boost and you will if you go lethal.
