We wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance on the SWTOR.com website for four hours on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 from 2AM CDT (12AM PDT/3AM EDT/8AM BST/9AM CEST/5PM AEST) until 6AM CDT (4AM PDT/7AM EDT/12PM BST/1PM CEST/9PMby on April 9th, 2012
Another PAX video is out, this time featuring BioWare’s Damion Schubert and David Bass, discussing and presenting a number of the features that we’ll be seeing in Update 1.2. The Bioware presentation is very nice and informative, especially for those new to the game. There aren't many suprises for those of us already updated with the upcoming features, but the video is worth seeing nonetheless.

This week’s Q&A continues on from last week where we answered a number of questions about Game Update 1.2. We had so many questions we broke the Q&A into two parts! Next week we’ll return to answering more general questions you might have. We’ll open a Forum thread for you to contribute as normal.
As a reminder, two weeks ago we suggested a shift in focus in your questions. As development plans are always subject to change, questions about future features will often get vague answers which can be repetitive and sometimes annoying. With that in mind, the development team is more interested in questions about current in-game features or systems, or questions about why development decisions were made. You’re still welcome to ask questions about future features and we’ll continue to answer them where appropriate – just expect the occasional ‘soon.’
Thangunis: Soon I will hit level 50 and was wondering what to do with my commendations. If I understand correctly the new Recruit gear set is more PVP oriented and has less PvE stats? Is the old gear worth buying or should I wait for the new Recruit? I would like to buy Battlemaster directly with commendations but I can only have 1000 commendations, right?

As you already know by now, some while ago we posted all the 1.2 PVE & PVP armors. And while we all agree that some of the armors aren't quite the Star War-ish designs we hoped for, there are some nice designs in there. Also, we all know that SWTOR's gear preview window is kinda low quality and to be honest, it doesn't really reflect the true design of the gears. Add the fact that's almost impossible to get geared up on the PTS...and it leaves us with the preview window..until today!

An interesting rumor was "floating" around the internet that Game Update 1.2 will hit the live servers this Tuesday (the 10th). I didn't wanted to post it since we didn't had an official confirmation..and we got it. Game Update 1.2 will NOT be released this Tuesday but I'm 100% sure that it will come on the 17th (don't ask me how I know, I just do
)

The updated article for live servers (Game Patch 1.2) can be found HERE.
All that's written bellow in this article, is info from the PTS server, before Game Update 1.2 hit the live servers, and it may be outdated.
Update
I'm not sure if things are going to stay like this, but it seems that the craftable Battlemaster, War Hero and Rated War Hero gear is now Bind on Equip (BoE) and it can crit with an Augment slot open. I don't know the exact Augment crit chance, but for me personally, it critted 2 times out of 5. The crafted items still require Valor Rank to be equiped.
However, there is a downside: I've placed the Battlemaster mods on the crafted War Hero suit and the set bonus wasn't transferred.
