Stats for Arsenal merc

So I've been trying to figure out what stats are best for a Mercenary, but it's difficult without a combat log. Aim is obviously the most important, but it seems that people are in disagreement over whether to focus on Power or Crit chance, especially for an Arsenal build.

The way I understand it:
Pyrotech - focus on Power
Bodyguard - focus on Crit Chance
Arsenal - ???

Could it go either way for Arsenal? Let me know your thoughts.

Yeah, I'm wondering what the secondary focus should be. It seems to be that Power gives higher base damage, but Crit Chance improves heat dissipation. Right now I'm going with Crit Chance because I may end up doing heals once I hit 50.

If you "may" end up doing healing at 50, then crit chance makes no sense. Power is much better for healing that crit is. Sustained healing is relay able healing. Crit tend to over heal rather than helping.

For arsenal, I go for crit/surge – those bring more damage than power I believe. But as you said with no combat log its rather hard to say.

true however, power scales badly in TOR right now.

I am going:
Accuracy 110% (to get 100% on all abilities)
Aim
Crit
Surge
Power

Yes, surge over power too since surge scales crazy good. There's dicussion to what percentage you ought to be stacking crit and surge but most likely it's not going to matter for you untill you progress significantly into endgame, so not to worry for now really.

Aim> Acc(110%)> Crit(to 300)> Surge(to ~150) > Power.

Crit greatly helps heat dissipation and will help you reliably achieve higher sustained dps. 2 Rakata medic implants will give you like 102 surge rating which scales it from 50% to like 77% I believe. You don't need a ton of surge to see huge benefits from it.
