    augments?

I started a new trooper character. (not new, really, made him at EGA, but didn't play him until recently.) He has cybertech, slicing and underworld trading as crew skills. Recently he acquired "augments" from a crew skill mission, but I don't know what slot they go into.

Some gear has Augment slots, usually "exceptional" crafted items. They have limited usefulness since Orange pieces do not have augment slots and you should be in all oranges anyway. Every slicer I know has multiple bank tabs of augments they can't give away. I think across my 8 toons I have used an augment maybe 3 times.

Crafting lvl 50 Rakata gear with great success (Exceptional) gives endgame PvE gear an edge from the usual rakata belt/bracers

So I can either sell or just put 'em away on my ship? Because I keep carrying them around hoping to find out what to do with them. But from the replies here it looks like they won't be very useful any time soon for me.

sell/vendor the greens and blue ones. save up the lvl 49 (epic/artifact) augmentations that your class can use. On my server (kai-kan | republic side) the epic lvl 49 augmentations such as aim/cunning/endurance/willpower goes for like 50-75k each.

EERR, best selling item i have in game are my augments i collect with my slicer sell them between 4k to 9k level 17 to 31. people buy them. depending on your class and what aspects you look for, dont forget you can use them on you companions to. When crafting your own stuff sometime you get a augment slot to put them in.

Gear will have an Augment slot when it is CRTICALLY crafted. You will typically find that a piece of green gear with an augment slot will ultimately have the same stats as a blue of that same piece. It depends on the augment you place in it.

My personal opinion on leveling Slicing. DO NOT do the augment missions. Just do the lock box missions and you will probably come out ahead in the end. Each server is different, but I couldn't sell augments to save my life.

Hang onto the augments you have now and try to sell them on the GTN, you might find a niche and make some cash. Otherwise you might find a need for them in some crafted gear.

this is the same for me. i can't sell my augments for anything. when i go try to sell them, they are only going for about 200-300 credits a piece. and that's for lvls 35-45 augments. i pretty much just do the augment missions when it is rich or abundant.

Anyone find that they tend to crit more often on augment missions rather than lockbox missions, or is it just random bad luck at my end?
