Mako vs Torian

Hi - my powertech is level 40 at the moment and whilst I've always favored Mako in the past (mainly for healing / stun and some occassional attacks when I'm cooling down ! ) I've recently been trying out Torian now and then.

Main reason for this was that I've been speccing him up quite well with all my "hand-me-down" gear when I've been investing in new stuff for myself and this has resulted in his primary stats (Aim/End) starting to better Mako's primary stats (Cun/End)

So I was wondering......

Is he a useful companion to fight alongside in the long term ? Or are you guys sticking with Mako for everything ?

He has died on me a few times so I've had to revive him once I'd finished fighting ! He reminds me of scrappy-doo........

When I was DPS'ing as a Powertech to level I used Mako to keep me healed.

Now that i'm in my Tank Spec, I don't really need Mako's heals for most things, so I use Torian for Melee DPS. He's also the holder of my DPS Set of raid gear.

I am at 50 so I am not doing much outside of groups anymore, but when I am out doing solo dailies or whatever I am using Torian. I have Mako in a couple of Columi pieces because IAs are hard to find on my server, but Torian is in most epic pieces because when I upgrade he gets what is leftover.

He is almost fully Tionese level gear now and he is a powerhouse for DPS.

I've used Mako since i got her. ive tried other companions(cept for Skadge. Blizz is better) but to me Mako plays more to my style. I'm a Merc(Arsenal Spec), so i cant comment on the Powertech side of things. I think i mainly used mako to get her affection to 10k. Which has happened thru just questing and the odd gifts here and there. Please note, that if you play a female BH, no matter how nice you are to Mako, she will never scissor with you(a point to which i keep telling my wife is BS).

I've tried Torian a few times,a mobs do seem to go down a little faster(not much since i have to heal a little here and there depending on the mob type), but the downtime for me is next to nothing with Mako, and a little more with Torian.

Same as above. Lvling as Merc Arsenal. Tried Torian for few leftover quests after I got him on Taris. The speed at which the mobs go down increased only slightly, and I have to heal up almost after every fight. So sticking with Mako. Wanna try Blizz when I get him, have high hopes for him. Hope I won't have to heal him after every big pack, like I have to do with my tank companion on dps Sage.

I play an ars*nal specced mercenary and use Mako for the heals pretty much full time as it means the least down time.

I love running with Blizz. It cracks me up every time he harpoons a mob and reels himself to the mob instead of the other way around. I guess I just enjoy airborne, squealing jawas. Which might be why I rocket punched so many on Tattooine...

I use Blizz pretty much exclusively. All the extra gear I get from raids and HMs goes straight to him. He's got about half Tionese, half Columi.

I am 47 and still use Mako exclusively. Mainly cuz she's my wife and i don't want none of youse guys hitting on her while i'm away with one of da boyz. LOL

I play a lvl 50 dps merc, and I use Torian pretty much exclusively. He's actually a really good DPS so we tend to kill stuff really fast. If we run into a tight spot, I can toss out enough heals to keep us up.

Since Torian is pretty well geared, I'm also gearing Mako and Blizz, just in case I need them. There have been a few situations, particularly while leveling that I've needed either a tank or a healer more, so it's good to have them as back up.

I am at 50 and I use Torin mostly. He is in Rakata,Columbi, All gear has the "power" stat in it. I am a tank and he out Dps's me somtimes.. his Helm is a special one though... it has 106 power.. I made it for him on a critted overkill masterstriker helm... then put a overkill augment into it.. he rocks. I have Mako in full Centurion gear from leftover pvp comms. I only bring her out when I do solo question on Ilum or voss.
