PVP to 50?

Pardon me if this has already been discussed. I'm closing in on 50 finally and I was curious about something. I figured around 48.5 or 49, I could start doing strictly pvp in order to accrue enough commendations so that I can actually fair decently at 50 pvp. I thought I'd ask the community, does this sound like a good plan? And if so, about what level should I start at?

I have one champion bag, and just enough to buy another, so I could only really get 800 more merc and WZ comms.

I would suggest to start pvp about 47 so you can have a good head on your shoulders to start 50 pvp cause its a HUGE difference in difficulty, and not knowing tactics for wz's will get you killed even on the low tier, and completely annihilated at the 50 bracket.

So at the current conversion rate, you need 3200 Mercenary Comms to max out. You can earn anywhere from 50 to 100 Comms a match. So your going to need to play 60 or more matches to max out. If you win half those, that's about 850k xp, give or take. So level 48ish sounds about right.

I have been pvping daily so I have a pretty decent grasp at how to go about each WZ, that is only if my team is actually trying to win instead of just going for medals. I'm hoping that's not the case in 50 pvp, but I doubt it since you get more comms for medals. @Raudell, I can't quite get that many comms right now, because there is a 1000 limit of each, so maybe I should start later? I do appreciate the math though

Actually, you can. Though I did use the wrong term. I meant you need 3200 Warzone Comms to max out. i.e. you need 800 Mercenary Commendations (10 Mercenary Comms cost 30 Warzone Comms) = 2400 Warzone Comms & 800 Warzone Comms = 3200. So you wouldn't max out if you traded them in each time your Warzone Comms got near 1000.

Sadly the idiots really start to come out of the woodwork at 50, and the worst thing is a good third of people on a pve server won't even touch pvp until they are 50, so there's a huge learning curve for those late-starters and they really hinder us that are vets :/

What Raudell's saying is to max out both mercenary & warzone comms so when you get lvl 50 you can buy another 5 champion bags and some good gear for a decent head-start. so since you have about 200/200 of each comm, you require a total of 3200 warzone comms to max out both sets of comms while you still have a good advantage over other players. If you're in your 40's you should be making roughly 80 wz comms per match. that's about 40 matches, so as long as you start the grind starting at lvl 48 you'll be fine to max out before ya hit 50

I thank you too. I have known I wanted to get into pvp, but I haven't done any person to person pvp since wow and I suspect my 7 years of gate camps, roaming gangs and scan probe scramble will not translate well.
