Imperial Agent - what's the best choice : Operative or Sniper

[Hallo]

I'm talking about DPS specs, what you think its better for PvE and PvP and why ?
Asking because i think trooper will be one of the best dps classes and i'm thinking to roll one.

Imo, Operative is better for PvP with all the stealth and burst dmg, while Sniper is more a PvE spec with more steady dmg ...
What you think ?

I think the Operative will be the PVP spec, but I have a feeling that the Sniper can perform well in PVP also. At the end of the day, I think it's a matter of how you spec. I don't think Blizzard will cripple AC's for PVP since you can't respec the AC

I don't know I might lean towards the sniper, just because if I can take a few out at long range with just a couple of shots(crits) that might be huge. The only way we will know is what happens at level 50. I feel that SWTOR, like WoW, that different classes will be better for BGs at different levels and only at top level when every class has its best abilities and specs can we tell.

Operative for PvP, Sniper for PvE seems pretty obvious this is a right choice, but it depends what you enjoy more

What is better for PvP is always debatable. It is all about how you play the class and what class you are facing. I'm sure both will have useable PvP specs, but they will have strengths and weaknesses against each other class.

It will all boil down to who plays their class better. Its funny that the weaker players always blame their defeats on the other class being OP.

yep, I agree, the player > the class and that's valid in every game. however, as the OP stated, it must be PVP spec for each class and that will probably be the spec with the most cc's, hp and resists.

id say sniper for DPS it seems the other spec is more towards the healing spectrum

But it does come down to class when player = player. The class that is better than the other will win when players' skills are equal.

Thing that can't really be checked, if not in the case where both are using the same class (and they both have the same DPS plus they almost kill each other in a duel), but when you need to compare two different classes everything you could do to get the skill gap between them would result in very inaccurate data.
