Trying out a new warrior, haven't played one yet. (well he's not new, but I only levelled him to 10 before going onto my other characters.) Now that I've begun again and left Korriban, is there a trick to getting good affection with Vette and still being kinda evil? Every time I make a dark side choice I lose affection with her. I've begun sending her off on missions or dismissing her before I talk to a quest giver. Maybe I should have just left the shock collar on and shocked her into oblivion.

I found that having Diplomacy on my warrior has helped out a lot. It's an easy way to get dark side points w/o losing affection w/ Vette.

That's odd she got mad at me for the lightside choice at the end of the revanites. Give her a rumor sheet or two and she will forget about the children you eat.

You just have to realize you'll have to buy here affection to offset your darkside choices.

Read the codex. She likes resistance towards authorities, and dislikes unnecessary violence. That being said, she's no goody tooshoes either. Companions arent always black and white, good and evil. Thats one of the many things this game does well. Companions are more nuanced, which gives a more real 'feel' to them.

Once your levels high enough you can run Black Talon over and over without her and pick all the dark side options. That's worth 250 per run I believe. You can also do this to make her like you more (I think 455 is max affection from one run), but you get light side points as well.

Vette's a strange one but she's the only companion I've ever used on my marauder (main char). She's more neutral then anything. She doesn't like it when you kill someone if there's another option but actually likes it if they happen to be a slaver or any form of smuggler or crook. The best advice I can give to lvl her affection is choose the talk options that make u not a complete dick but don't go with the fairy "the world's a happy place" one either. Any option where you state "I won't do this for free" usually gives u +15 to. GL

I did that this morning, and the end mission box listed me with 50 dark side points and -30 affection with Vette, even though she wasn't there. Guess I'll have to buy her stuff.

Vette is very much of the mercenary, play by her own rules, type of personality. So shirking the word of authority gets in good w/ her. Being cruel for no good reason (basically what all the darkside choices amount too =/) makes her mad though particularly if it isnt directly against the person you are attacking but rather their subordinates or slaves. Oh also leaving people enslaved doesnt seem to make her too happy either.

Just go Diplomacy. You can get companion gifts and ds points at the same time.

Vette loves Underworld Goods. You can buy grade 1 and 2 Underworld Goods in limitless quantities from a fleet vendor. At the beginning of the game that´s 200 Credits for 96 (?) points of affection.
