Which Companion should I use

I have a level 42 Bounty Hunter Powertech Tank, which companion should I be using thru PvE leveling?

I like Torian for when i'm in tank spec. He does good Melee DPS and, since he stays close, you can keep Guard on him. Gault can be good as well. You most likely won't need much healing as tank, but on the occasion you do, Mako is always the fallback

Thanks, I had a feeling that Torian would be a good comp when tanking, how about Blizz? Or because he is ranged DPS is Torian more effective because he stays close...?

From I've seen of Blizz he's more of a tank than a DPS, his DPS ability is kinda limited I think. Someone may correct me on that though.

Chin's right. Blizz is a ranged tank. Gault is your ranged DPS.

Now granted I'm only a level 28 tank atm and I only have Mako, but I see myself using her throughout my whole leveling process. Her healing is decent and allows me to jump from group to group without self healing in-between. She is also useful when I try a 4 man quest with only 3 people and her healing :p

imo depends on your playing style and gear , personally i'm using mako all the way, her healing and dps isent that bad at all, just remeber to upgrade her gear to, sad part is there is almost no challenge with elites or group of them. just takes a little longer to get them down

having armortech as a proffecion makes a big diffrence going around in full blue/purple gear mixed in with some dps gear it's just tank and spank to lvl50

I thought I would use Mako forever but now that I've just recently hit 50 and re-specced to tank, killing NPC's takes too long so I use Torian for my dailies. He kicks ass

The good thing with Torian being Aim/End Heavy armour spec = he's quite well equipped since he has all my hand-me-down armour and looks exactly how my toon did in the late 40's - it's a bit spooky actually !

first off, lemme clear the air Skadge sucks balls. I hate him, and didn't even want to pick his ass up in the first place. What makes it worse is every time I insult him he likes me more. All he does is die. I totally hate him.

I use Blizz or Torian depending on if I want to deal a ton of damage, or just have a sick Jawa tank with a rocket pistol. Torian and I see eye to eye most of the time...


to clarify, I'm DarkII Merc Arsenal, and I focus alot on DPS. so those two work really well for me.






pps. I f**ing hate skadge and wish I could shoot him out the airlock.

Gault is useless. he is a stupid sniper. screw that. i'm the ranged guy in the outfit. He Is so funny, though. Snarky. So he stays for comedic relief (I love when he comes back from a mission and he says "well, kid. You win some and you lose some. You just lost some." that cracks me up.

I just got Torian and used him a bit. Holy crap I take a ton of damage and am healing myself too much. I like killing stuff not trying to survive. Granted, he is good for in-close dps, but I put so much out he cant hold the mob and i am not a tank. I'm an Arsenal Merc for god's sake.

Still being level 35, Mako is the only sound choice.

Mako is the best in my opinion, but I am an Arsenal Merc.

I'm leveling as a Merc Healer, and I still seem to be staying with Mako a lot. I tried Gault, and he's okay, but not great. I'm looking forward to using Torian, once I finish Taris, but I've gone back to Mako for the moment.

I do agree that Gault has his amusing moments from a saying's standpoint.
