Assassin companion?

So I'm a level 26 deception assassin and I love to pvp. I just got androdikas (or however its spelled) and i hate khem so I want to switch but without khem I can't get behind ppl so my damage blows and I'm too squishy to last long. The only reason I don't switch to tank is because I love deception pvp. Any advice? An I doing something wrong?

Your fines taying deception but your gonna have to find a way to get along with the Khemster. You gots to be able to hit it from behind. You do get a ranged tank later on in your 40's.

Yeah, you have to stick with Khem. I'm not a huge fan either, but there's no other way.

Once you get Talos, stick with him. Even if you are dps spec, use dark charge and you can do the final story mission boss with full health. Talos = Easysauce soloing

So I'm 45 and still using Khem. I am melee dps. Should I switch to Talos?

Talos is nice as a DPS, but make sure to keep him kitted out well so he can heal good. If you find you arent needing much healing Xalek is a nice tank, much better than Khem

Yes, when you get Talos, stick with him. He heals and has ranged DPS. You can solo elites and do the class quests with ease.

Xalek is your next tank after Khem. He's similar to the Assassin and you usually get him around 46/48 just before you hit correllia, I think.

I like Talos as my companion on my assassin tank. I also like Ashara for dps. Properly geared, she's pretty wicked.I probably should finish gearing up andronikos, but I'm lazy.

I'm level 27 and setup in the tank tree and I've been using droid and that's been going really well. His heals arent bad at all when he's in almost full oranges. I will say tho when I was running deception, i took a beating still with droid healing - Khem is great to use - just keep his gears and weps current level and he does fine with you dpsing from rear.

Xalex comes way too late in the process to really talk about as far as leveling is concerned. Xalex also has a huge bug right now where his shield rating and absorption rating aren't improved by any secondary stats from gear - making Khem a much stronger tank.

Make up with Khem, and when you get Talos, try using him if you're dead set on not using Khem. Both work just fine. I suppose you could use the droid early on if you hated Khem that badly - he's just expensive to gear if it's your first toon, and has like zero DPS.

My thing with the droid tho is there is usually 2-3 mobs I'm fighting and the droid keeps 1-2 of them occupied and he can surely handle himself as far as taking a beating. I don't think he's died on me yet and I haven't died on him yet.

But I more than likely be going back to Khem and just use the dual heal pots cause I prefer not to get hit

I use Medpacs on my toons with more frequency in this game than any other I've played before.

I leveled all the way to 50 as deception with Khem tanking. For a few of the harder fights I brought out Tallos for heals.
