Wind Crystals

Anybody had much luck in getting Wind Crystals from Treasure Hunting missions? I have a number of nice purple schematics needing them and in getting Treasure Hunting to 120, using pretty much only Gem hunting missions, I have acquired a grand total of two... Even using Kira Carson, who has a +1 Treasure Hunting crit, hasn't made a huge difference, though she did get the two I acquired. By the time I get more I'll have overlevelled the items I can make. Very frustrating.

The only way I ever got my hands on 2 (yep only 2) is buying them off the GTN. never had one drop or show up on a mission at all. I don't even know where you find them. I'm not level 50, but I have been all the way through Hoth.

Yeah checked the GTN, not a one. From my digging around it seems they are only available through getting critical success on the first tier of Treasure Hunting missions. A few things I read mention you can't get them once you over level the missions and they turn grey...

Looks like all the reverse engineering and credits spent was wasted.

I've had similar issues with other professions. You might try getting your companions affection up a little. I know this effects the mission success, not too sure about crit success. Usually I'm so quick to out level stuff, it's not really worth the effort to recraft all the items every time you get after a few skill ups, I usually only do every 10-15 levels and just go all out at max level.

I have had a good amount of luck with the wind crystals. after out leveling the skematics for the wind crystals I sold them on the global network for 1k credits 30 total

You might try getting your companions affection up a little.

Perhaps before you reply to a thread with such an attitude you might like to read both threads, I know everything in that thread and simply wondered if my experience was typical. Not sure why I'm explaining myself to you, but generally if a thread is a month or so old I'll start a new one rather than necro-ing, apologies if that doesn't fit your rules of the internet.

Having similar issues with the higher up gems. I keep plugging away, though. I think total skill level may play a role in it as well. I can usually find lower level purple gems (ie wind at current level 350 treasure) easier than the higher. However the time it takes per mission may plan a part in how easy it seems to. Good luck.

No English is not my first language its Swedish.
All I want was for him to know how to get his Windy thingy. But hey....! This site is getting bigger for everyday now. Search is a good tool to use before asking a question.

And you did help in anyway? No. Atleast I tryed. Your just trolling.

If you do the missions I posted in my first thread you know what how to get them. When I started run them I got alot of Wind Crystals.

Did you notice if you still got them when the missions turned grey and thus considered overlevelled, Zargs? I read that somewhere else, but I would like to continue trying as the purple items may sell well on the GTN and I can try to recoup some of the money I've wasted so far. Or just spend even more, crafting in this game is just a form of gambling, do you risk your last 500 credits on that mission hoping to get the component for something you can sell for 5000, or not?

Yes. I have 400 and I still get them.
If I remember I try some today to see how many I get.

TH is a good way to make credits.

I did 2 missions and only got 2 from one of the missions. I got lucky.
All the "epic" mats are hard to get.

Just a side note because I am bored.

I got 4 (340) missions, learned one, sent a companion out, learned another sent another out...etc. So I had 4 out scoring me some sweet mats.

Log back in a few hours later:

Quinn Failed
Jaesa Failed
Broonmark Failed

I mean, really? REALLY?
