    shield or focus?

    Hey guys, quick question I play a deception assassin. Should i be using a shield or focus? Lvl 30 and have been doing mostly pve so far.

    Focus for dps and shield for tank

    A shield is largely pointless without the boost from Dark Charge (and skills like Dark Ward), so with a Deception build you should definitely be packing a generator.

    Like others have said, focus for the most part. I like to hold onto a shield as well for pvp for situation like if I carry the huttball. It takes one slot and doesn't need to be a good one since they all have the same shield process chance and absorption percentage.

    I used a focus until I got ashara and then switched to a shield and switched to dark charge. I let her beat the crap out of everything. I'm not as survivable as a pure tank but I can do good damage. And it lets me pvp in my deception spec

    Unless you're tanking in pve always use a focus.
