Guardian - PVP pre 1.2 and after

Recently hit the level 50 benchmark ( \O/ ) and ive been pvping a bit with my vigilance spec: Skill Calculator - Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) Database
atm im loving the numbers, cant complain really. Liking how consulars cant push me away after I force leap to them due to the immunity after the jump BUT on 1 v 1 scenarios I usually get trashed which can mostly be due to them having better gear. I dont like how shiien form doesn't offer any defense like shii-does so I have to switch to soresu if im taking a lot of heat.

Since 1.2 is coming up id like to hear whats your guys opinion: have you had similar situations? Do you use a different tree/build - I heard focus is actually pretty good at the moment and pretty viable but im not sure about how to game-play is.

I pvp as Defense and actually really enjoy it. I've never really liked the pvp side of MMOs before, but I'm actually enjoying it here. BW did a good job of making tanks viable in pvp, even in my Operations spec. Maybe after they implement dual spec I'll try out an actual pvp spec, but I'm working towards Battlemaster now so I've been doing just fine with it. Guardians are flat out amazing in Huttball and excellent in Civil War, our mobility just can't be beat.

Pre 1.2- Focus/Rage builds with dps gear can pump out some serious dps. I prefer hybrid vigilance/def as the best overall spec for good tanking and dps.
Post 1.2 - Focus will def take a dps hit with the lack of force alacrity, but I think BW does not want the 1 trick pony dps guardians. They are going to force the players to adapt and find othe ways to push out the big numbers...600k+

Dont forget the 2sec stun from leap...going to be a pain not being able to leap to targets you are trying to burn down....will take some getting use to.
