IMO, a shadow...i have a lvl 46 sage and I struggle in pvp. I specced healing and pvp is way different to play than just lvling. Besides, shadows have stealth..sneaky buggers..lol.

Depends - do you like melee? Do you like playing a stealth class from other MMOs?

    If yes, then Shadow.

    If no, then Sage.

If unsure, roll a second consular and spec that one as the other AC, and try them both to 14/16 and keep the one you like.

I find it quite interesting how varied PvP can be as a Jedi Sage healer. Yesterday I was in an Alderan warzone where we had an awesome fight for the mid node for essentially the whole match, and I was in the middle for the whole time. I ended up with 13 medals, 300k+ healing and we won.

The match after I was playing Huttball and must have had a big fat HEALER sign on my back, and some good, coordinated opponents, as I would constantly had two or more DPS/tanks on me, and I achieved nothing much more than dying. I felt like a wet paper bag healer. We lost big time, 0-6, and I didn't achieve much.

Being a Sage healer means you depend on your team a lot, and yes you have some good tools and can make a bugg difference to the team, but it can also be a bit of a challenge if the enemy decides to focus on you and take you down. Overall I enjoy my Jedi Sage healer.

I actually have both. My shadow is lvl 38 and I just started a sage who is lvl 14. Bot totaly diff play styles, both fun. As for "easy" leveling, the shadow is by far the easiest to level out of all the toons I have done. The simple fact you can stealth and walk by so much trash makes it so much faster to level.

For pvp go shadow dps spec. Eventually you'll get tank skills as you level progresses that are really nice in pvp. There is a crowd control that forces everyone in a 15m radius to either attack you or do 30% less damage. In a big brawl like huttball and voidstar, that's a nice edge. And with the right stats and mods in your gear, you never lack for force and can keep the hurt delivery

Cadinka, i am curious to know what would you classify as the 'right' stats/mods for a Jedi Shadow PvP build.

I have just started levelling a Jedi Shadow myself after seeing how 'interesting' they can be in PvP.

I play a lvl 50 healing sage, i find it fun mainly cause healing is what keeps me going. I mean anyone can dps and kill people but the true skill is keeping everyone alive. I mean everyone complains that as a sage we got super nerfed with 1.2 when in some ways that's true its how you adapt to these changes. I still cap 600k heals its not 800k anymore but its still good in my books

I love playing as a Shadow. As a previous poster said, the ability to stealth past trash is outstanding.

I'm a LvL 36 and was completing Part 1 of my main story, but to get to the boss, you had to go through a lot of tough mobs...which would normally be time consuming and beat you up a bit....BUT, I just stealthed passed almost all of the mobs (making sure I wasn't missing a Bonus Mission by doing so first). You also eventually get an ability called Blackout, which makes you virtually invisible for 8 seconds and you can literally walk through mobs and they won't detect you.

I am doing the Infiltration tree, so I also spent some skill points to increase my stealth. I even sometimes forget, when running with a group, that not everyone can stealth, because I have grown so accustomed to stealthing through a lot of areas! Plus, can't go wrong with an assassin if you like DPS
