Life after level 50?

Hello, Recently hit level 50 and I was told thats when the fun really starts? Anyone know what I should be doing now? Or is that it?

Now that you are level 50 there are a few things you can and should be doing. If you are interested in progressing further in operations or Hard Mode flashpoint content then you will need to get yourself geared.

There are some very simple ways to gear yourself, and most people start by doing the Belsavis/Ilum/Corellia daily quests. And getting the mods/armoring/enhancements from quest rewards and start putting them in your custom gear. Once you get this gear, you can start jumping in to Hard Mode flashpoints or Story Mode operations for Columi gear and this will allow you to progress to Hard Mode ops for Rakata/Black Hole/Campaign gear.

The other big thing to do at 50 is PVP if that is what you enjoy. Once you hit 50 you can start PVP by purchasing the Recruit Gear set from the PVP vendor (about 350k for the whole thing) and start working towards warzone commendations for your Battlemaster set and valor rewards.

The dailies and missions you do as a 50 also have a very useful factor. You can craft, buy or aquire gear for alts and have them better geared to level. Makes them easier to play aka less time at the med center. You can also feed them cash for their professions so they can level and advance a profession with hiccups

also 50 is the time you need to fully learn your class if you haven't done so already. time to fix and optimize your spec tighten up your rotations and get your ui and gear setup to take on your role as best as possible.

yesterday I had the delightful opportunity to pug a jugg tank that had an aim earpiece a willpower implant and a level 50 purple cunning mod in his helm after that discovery the group had a sudden rash of emergencies that called them away from finishing the fp.

edit: also make sure you have your abilities keybound as best as your input devices allow. skip to 3:50 for taugrim's suggestion

After a while at 50 now, I enjoyed it while guild was helping doing dailies and some HM's, but when they died, finding a group is impossible with the lack of people on the server. So cancelled my membership, got about 30 days til it plays out but the game has seriously messed up by not seeing the problems of low pop servers (Big Error). I enjoyed the game, very fun. One of the beat mmo's but when I turn on a game, I wanna play, not sit around Fleet asking for groups for a couple of hours or so and dailies are just repetitive, no reason they cant just have alternating stories for dailies on a daily so ya not doing the same again and again.

I'm going to be a "Debbie Downer" for a minute. While rerolling is a great idea, some of us have our army of alts on whatever server we first started on, or decided to move to after the first few weeks of really nasty queues. Also, some of us have seen the same planet 2, 3, 4, 5 times due to either rerolling new toons on the server we're on or having multiple 50s (I know, I'm out of the norm, but I have 3 imperial 50s, and 1 repub 50 with 2 toons in their high 20s to mid 30s and 1 new toon around level 14/15).

I was talking to a couple of guildies that rerolled from the server they were on to the server the guild is on now, and they expressed some of the same hesitation in rerolling.

Lets just say I'm looking forward to server transfers and potential server mergers. And, at the end of the day, its not server consolidation, its server population enhancement They are simply choosing to enhance the population of the servers that are left

PS: I did consider rolling a couple of new characters on the Corellian Run server since the OR guilds are there, but decided that splitting time between there and my "home server" just wasn't something I wanted to do, and didn't look forward to regrinding out gear and legacy on a new server.
