    Blizz/Skadge

Just an observation. I'm not quite 50 yet, only about 43 atm.
I had looked at the available companions and saw Blizz! Loved the idea of a Jawa companion! Looked forward to getting him.
I went from planet to planet, to planet to planet...until I finally got him. Picked him up right at the end of Act 2, and (at the time if I recall correctly) had about 11 levels to cap.
Why is it that we seem to pick up our last 2 companions so late in the game?
Granted I could have leveled faster/skipped thru quests if I played on my own. I play with my wife's Sith Warrior and she picked up all her companions by about 32 or so....

It depends on the class. The Trooper is pretty much set by the end of Act 2 (DPS on Ord Mantell, Healer on Taris, Tank on Nar Shadaa, and then other two companions on Balmorra and Hoth), but the knight seems to be the same way (2 companions by taris, but nothing then until Hoth).

The consular is the same way - 2 companions until act 2, and then you get them right on top of each other (Balmorra, Hoth, Belsavis). The inquistor is not quite as bad but pretty close. I think its one of those things where they expect a BH to be able to "self tank" till around 40, when you really need a tank to handle some of the different class quests and the general difficulty of the enemies since it goes up around Belsavis and Voss.

My only major complaint about the companions is the randomness of when you get your healer. Consulars get it on Nar Shadaa, where as inquistors get them on Hoth. BH's start out with a healer (I'm guessing they expected a lot of them to go powertech), and the troopers get theirs on Taris (first world after the capital planet) so those two classes aren't too bad. I also think the Jugg gets their healer pretty early too. With the sniper, I didn't really care, since I needed the tank more than the healer, but it would be nice to get it earlier on stuff I might tank with.

Try not to take it personal. Each class gets their companions at different rates and levels. It is based on what they thought worked well for the class storyline, and not on any version of what a player may consider as fair. Both the sith warrior and jedi guardian get all their companions earlier in the game than anyone else, but they still can't send out anymore for crafting missions, etc than anybody else has available if I recall right.

I would hardly say a Guardian gets their comps early. I'm level 27 and still only have t-7 and Kira - not that shes bad to have. I am on Tat and am just on the verge of finishing my class quest there. I don't gert my next till Balmorra.

Well i will say this, i know of no other class that gets their 3rd companion before leaving coruscant/dromund kaas. Granted it leaves you with a big gap until balmorra, but I felt like it picked up after that and I you get the rest pretty fast. It's been a while though so maybe that was just my impression as I playedmy guardian...

Regardless it still just shows how different each class is in regards to when you get your companions...

The Assassin is the worst, I think. You don't even pick up a "proper" healer until Hoth. Granted, a well-outfitted ship's droid does quite well and is very amusing to watch him punch away at the mobs.

Back to the BH topic. The fact that you get your tank companions so late on the leveling curve shouldn't bother you much. Lots of people envy BH. Because we get Mako as our first companion. Not only she is AWESOME. But she's also a healer. Which basically saves you from any hassle with choosing a companion. She heals extremely well and has the necessary utility to support a DD from lvl 10 to 50 (did with my mercenary). Can also be extremely useful until you get your DD companions Gault or Torian, if you're tank specced (went with Mako, switched to Gault and then Torian on my Powertech tank). Blizz and Gault come in at the right, when the mobs start hitting much harder and may be too hard for you to handle, or w/e. I'm a healer on my merc, but i still prefer using Torian over Blizz for dailies whenever I feel like doing them. But my Torian is Rakata geared and obliterates enemies in a matter of seconds. And I leveled as DD with Mako healing me, and soloed (almost) every HC 2 without any problems.

It's not so much an issue of me needing a tank while leveling. Am playing with my wife's Juggernaut. And I love Gault (occasionally for laughs)/Torian (mostly use Torian). I just wanted a jawa following me around from the get go. Figure until they make Jawa's a playable race, that'd be the next best thing....lol
You just don't build a very good connection with a toon you pick up so late, because you only really use them for a planet or two or dailies....

For entertainment value, and just a cool little guy nothing beats Blizz. Plus you pass gas as a choice in quests and you get 200 affection. You Cant go wrong with Blizz.

I wish you could get one companion for your legacy " friend" like R2-d2... I would pick Blizz.
