Help With Jedi Shadow Stats & Secondary Stats

Hey,


Can anyone help with the best stats for a Jedi Shadow (infiltration tree)? I ask because I get confused between which ones I want to focus on, especially when gearing up or adding mods.


For instance, I know Willpower and Endurance are my main stats and I focus on increasing them. However, when I'm using the GTN or deciding whether to equip certain gear, I have no idea whether Power, Alacrity, Critical Rating, Defense Rating, Surge Rating etc are useful for my Shadow.


Does anyone know of a guide that address this, or knows off the top of their head the priority that I should focus on? For instance: Willpower > Endurance > Critical Rating > Accuracy > Power --> etc?


The instance that prompted me to ask is that I was grabbing some Light Side gear and was interested in a couple of relics. One gave me Power 150 for 20 seconds, the other gave me Critical & Surge Rating 85 for 20 seconds (same cost)...but I had no idea which would benefit me more or that I should want to have.


I heard Alacrity means nothing for a Shadow / Consular, just makes your Force powers (like telekenetic throw) move faster, with no real benefit.


Anyone who is super familair with this class and who knows what stats to focus on, I would REALLY appreciate it!

PS - I play PvE and am LvL 36.


My current stats are:


Willpower: 680
Endurance: 714


Damage (Pri): 283-342
Bonus Dmg: 164
Accuracy: 91.60%
Crit Chance: 20.72%
Crit Multiplier: 55.78%


Health: 8575
Armor: 1972


Damage Reduction: 19.78
Defense Chance: 10.76


I'm not sure if these are good/bad/average for my level while rolling a Shadow. Would love help on making sure I am gearing and spec'ing as best I can for my class. Thanks!

You mentioned in your first post that you are Infiltration specced, which is a pure dps spec and so I will be writing based on that.

You'll want to have some accuracy, it's fairly important as it increases your chance to hit mobs. The goal for accuracy is to have your special attack hit chance right around 110%, this is more for when you're max level and running operations but it still works as a good measuring stick while questing and leveling and such.

Power increases your overall base damage output. Say you hit something for 100 damage, add 5-10 power and suddenly you're hitting for 105-110 damage per strike instead. It's not a straight conversion like that, this is simply an example.

Critical Rating is fairly straight forward, it improves your chance for a critical strike.

Surge ties in closely with Crit. Surge makes your critical hits hit even harder.

Power will increase your base damage, while Crit and Surge will increase your burst damage. As an Infiltration Shadow you rely more on burst damage to get the job done. You might think that power would go right along with Crit, however point-for-point Power gives you less damage in Crits than Surge will.

Unless you decide to switch to tanking, or you're getting hit way too much, you can ignore Defense, Shield Rating, and Absorption. This is because you'd be using a Focus instead of a Shield, thus the Shield Rating and Absorption would not do anything.

To sum up: Accuracy(to special 110%)> Crit>/=Surge>Power
>/= means greater than or equal to.

Willpower, Accuracy (too 100%), Crit (300 points, about 25%), Surge (200 pts max), Power (keep stacking after crit an surge are met). Dont worry about Endurance. You want the resolve stuff, the more willpower the better.
