    Black Hole / Campaign Gear Setups?

    So I have full rakata, with augmented head/chest/legs. Duel tank spec BH Implants and a BH Earpiece.

    Looking over the BH and Campaign gear, it looks like ALOT of the BH pieces are a drop in HP and a push for shield/absorb. Thats cool and I get it, but to what end?

    I guess I just want more HP on my gear the BH specifically. I know sometimes I dont see the writing on the wall, but where has my defense rating gone? I liked having 25% but its down to 20 now.

    Yes shield and absorb is up around 40/45, so its very effective.

    I guess the shadow tanks in my guild touting their 25khp and my 23.5 is getting to me and I dont see any major jumps in sight untill full campaign.

    Oh and BH sentinal boots have like 20 more endurance then the War hero? srsly.

    Has anyone see the stats of an full campaign geard tank? Is the best setup just full campaign or a mix of rakata/BH and campaign?

    It seems as if they did a deliberate shift to Shield/Absorb this tier to try and make us less spikey. There's no doubt at all that we have the best cooldowns, especially with our 4 piece, but Troopers and Shadows took more constant manageable damage due to their higher Shield/Absorb. I'm not sure I like the switch either, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

    Yea I am not happy about the shift. I would have liked to see a bigger change over to more damage resistance vs the same old shield/absorb those other classes have.

    Another note - the campaign shield amp relic is pretty awesome. I wish it lasted a little longer then 6 sec, but I think its solid. It raises my absorb around 20% on proc!

    The Rakata Set Bonus...increases the duration on Saber Ward and Blade Turning. Its pretty much the best thing since Sliced Bread.

    The gear did seem a little strange to me at first since my Juggernaut set got rid of all Defense Rating in favor for higher Shield/Absorb, but it kinda makes sense since my rage generation depends a lot on me actually getting hit (soresu form). I found that with my gear augmented to have around 26% defense chance, I wasn't able to generate consistent rage to sustain my rotation more regularly. I could be looking at this wrong but its just something I've noticed.

    There is a certain amount of truth to that False, its probably the most singular reason I haven't marched to the official forums complaining. That being said, I'm really still skeptical as to whether we picked up enough Shield/Absorb with our gear to match what Shadows and Vanguards get from Talents.

    I would almost rather have a endurance % increase talent vs strength at this point. My aggro generation is pretty sick after 1.2

    Threat is a non issue because of how Taunt works, but with how tight enrage timers are on Hardmode EC, Tank damage does matter.

    Take a peek at my stats and see what you think I can do better:

    head-augmented rakata with absorb aug
    chest-augmented rakata with absorb aug
    gloves - rakata
    belt - rakata
    legs - augmented rakats with absorb aug
    boots - columi with some rakata mods 58/56/58
    offhand - rakata
    main hand - columi augmented LS with endurance aug 56/56/58 mods
    ear - Black hole
    2x implant - BH
    bracer - rakata
    relic1-campaign shield amp
    relic - campaign power clicky

    Buffed results:
    22965 hp
    7647 armor
    def chance 18.27
    shield 46.41
    absorb 51

    Well, you can drop some augmented pieces to get the set bonuses back, I honestly have no idea why you wouldn't keep those.

    Also, the Campaign damage proc relic is better than the power clicky.

    Well I still have the 2set rakata bonus, which is the most important. The 20% absorb bonus I thought was lame and not even confirmed effective?

    I just hate the low defensive chance being so low. And hell my accuracy is kinda low imo also.

    I agree the damage proc relic would be better for overall damage/aggro - but I like the damage spikes the power click can offer with key timing during an event.

    I like having the control to pick when I want to trigger a dps boost. But I see the damage proc as offering much more damage over the course of a fight, probably alot more. Which like you said the EC HM is serious gear check, that extra damage would certainly be wanted.

    But overall, am I in the ballpark for the right tanking stats? Personally, once I get some shield augs, I think I would like to repalce the absorb ones with them. I would like to shield more often vs absorbing more less often.

    Your stats are just fine, you've done a good job gearing yourself.

    I'd go with Shield augments as well, Absorb is fine, but we don't have as much shield from Talents as Shadows and Vanguards, which is why they go for Absorb augments.

    Wow ... last night I sat in front of the Black Hole vendor with 53 coms and had no clear item to buy.

    It seems like whatever direction I went, I was losing something important to get more of something else important.

    As PvE, what pieces should I get minus the ear/implants? The ear/implants were easy picks over the rakata. But all the other slots are way harder for me to decide on.

    I am kinda pissed off that you are forced to sacrifice one key stat....to boost another. Why cant the upgrade be a small bump for everything rather than a trade off? I really dont like the gearing we got in 1.2 a this point.

    Yes I am a better tank with more shield/absor and less def chance....but my accuracy sucks, and I have to lose that good shielding to get more of it. Or I need to lose more accuracy to get more shield.

    This is the first time in this game/any game really that an upgrade does not seem like such an upgrade vs. a trade off. I guess I am going to bank up 60+ an see about getting the chest piece (just for the mods btw), cuz they are going right into an augmented piece, for a 200k credit cost I might add...thx BW.
