We used to have a very considerate populace but now kill-stealing and ninja looting ground spawn items is rampant. Most folks ignore my requests to group in the Black Hole. BW needs to makes the daily areas phased and limited to 10-20 people. This would still allow people to group for the 4H but would limit the douchebaggery the all the émigrés seem to have brought with them.
haha. i don't recall the sign on the Drooga's server telling the "refugees" DOUCHEBAGS NEED NOT APPLY.

i'm sure plenty of nice, considerate players have transferred in.

The only lag I noticed is only when using GTN, that thing is extremely laggy. However, what I tend to do and this might help a lot of people having lag on fleet (if they didn't know this was possible) whenever I log in I am put on Imperial Fleet 1, which becomes obvious by the time it takes for model to appear, so I click 'M' (map) and select to transfer to Imperial Fleet 2 (it's above the area map in the bottom right corner). Bam.......lag is gone, and if I'm lucky there's less than 100 people in there.
Other thing I do, is live on my ship when PvPing. It increases the loading time when logging in, I have a mailbox, a vendor driod and a training dummy on my ship so I have things to do while waiting for WZ queue. Only things I need on the fleet are PvP daily, GTN and general chat for pugging ops. Still considering investing 5mil for GTN on the ship (1.3 come all of them will be neutral anyway). And also with 1.3 LFG tool will replace the need to have access to general chat channel. The only things left are to buy a plasma screen and an audio system for my ship...... oh wait........... I can't.

I'm seriously considering the mailbox for the ship and I may revisit both that and the GTN console once 1.3 hits. I'm nowhere near the 5 mil for it right now though

I'm working on stocking up on crafting mats for when 1.3 hits so I can just crank through level 49+ oranges and make augment kits to sell. Hopefully, that will net me the 5 million I need for the GTN in my ship.

I got the mailbox for my ship(s) It's nice, but I still log off on the fleet just because I have to check the GTN everyday to sell my crafted goods. I'm in the same boat, I would love the GTN on my ship, and I have the 5 million, but man, that's a ton of coin.....and it took me a LONG time and hard work to get that 5 million. Not sure it's worth it.

I think once the hutts own the trade network it might be, especially if your computer is chugging on fleet. Secondary option is do what others have suggested and jump to one of the other instances of fleet once you log in on it.

Clearly, because we got a ton of them. That being said, I agree that it's likely plenty of nice people transferred as well; I've even encountered a couple. Still, along with the good came plenty of bad; bad that was not present (or easily observable, at least) until the transfers began.

    Carraig, I think there's 2 factors here:

    1) People on Drooga's that were happy with the server population as it was, and are unhappy with all these new people (I know, sounds unlikely, but entirely possible). See: "Get off my Lawn" syndrome.

    2) All the trolls from all the other servers feeding off each other on the new server.

I also think with the higher populations, its drawing in people that are either doing 7 day trials, or unsubbed for a bit, back to the game and they are looking for, or moving their characters, and learning the ropes again.

I'm one of the refugees that was directed to Drooga's, and truthfully, I'm more excited than ever to play, because the worlds feel "busy" again. I was on coruscant last night on a new smuggler, and there were 100+ people on the capital city. You were lucky to see 20 or 30 on Zhar Lestin. I've been leveling on Voss on another toon, and its been 40+ people on it in primetime, which makes getting 4 man groups together so quick and painless. I've also enjoyed playing a lot more Imp Vs Pub PvP, as opposed to all the Imp vs Imp PvP previously on Zhar Lestin due to the population imbalance. With PvP, I'm also happy that I'm not seeing the same names every single match. Different people bring new challenges to PvP, because you never know who's going to be awesome, and who sucks with the population being what it is.

I wasn't that excited about 1.3 on a "dead" server. I'm truly stoked about 1.3 on a "bursting at the seems" server.

I agree. I think that pre-transfer Drooga's was (1) small enough that each guild knew each other and there was that familiarity and respect that created a bond of cordiality between players, and (2) large enough so that any native asshats they would grief other players were rarely seen, if ever. I also recognize that those servers were not the equivalent of seething trashcans full of vile that they dumped on our noble, gleaming server, ruining it. But with any increase in population -and an increase that was sudden, negating any opportunity to build bridges- that the unsavory sort are thrown into a sharper focus and unfortunately, the perception is that this all started when 'those people' joined the server. It's a false perception, I realize but made more pervasive simply by the ham-handed way BioWare did this. It'd be like it the USA and Canada all of a sudden became a single sovereign nation. There are literally millions and millions of decent Yanks and Canucks, but the abrupt, forced merging of what was previously two distinct cultures (or in SWTOR, 5 cultures) makes for a rough transition.

I'm all for combining servers. But it needs to be done more gradually and BioWare needed to upgrade and change some of the game mechanics to accommodate for the -what amounts to massive, game affecting- changes. Phasing the daily zones and increasing the server capacity to eliminate queues would have made this an fantastic change. I understand that coming from a dead server, this would be an exceptional opportunity to do things previously unobtainable, unless in a decent-sized guild. But being on the target server, life hasn't gotten any better, just more filled with delays and many (but clearly not all) people who I don't know from guilds I don't recognize and who show little to no respect or cordiality to their fellow players. It's discouraging and I remain hopeful if reserved about how this will eventually play out.

Carraig, I completely understand. If Zhar Lestin was a destination server, and a bunch of other servers were tagged to move there, and what's happened happened, I would probably be of the same opinion.

I think, with group finder, people are going to learn who the jerks are and who the decent people are fairly quickly. I just hope there isn't a limit on people I can ignore

If you see someone on the Imperial side with a "I don't give a sith" guild tag, or "The Night's Watch" guild tag on the Repub side, and they're a jerk to you, let me know. Those are the guys I run with, and have been playing WoW with them for the last 3 or 4 years, so I know them really, really well, and am happy to smack them around if needed
