    PvE Guardians: Post your stats and gear!

    Unbuffed

    hp= 21867
    accuracy= 97.74%
    armor= 7959
    damage reduction= 48.12%
    def chance= 18.42%
    shield= 45.57%
    absorb= 50.30%

    This is with black hole ear/implants/bracer/head/chest/legs
    Rakata gloves/boots/offhand
    Rank 136 Hilt augmented LS with rakata mod
    x2 campaign relics

    My 4 pieces of augmented gear have 2x endurance augs, 1x shield aug, and 1x absorb aug

    Post your stats!

    I wanted to get an idea of where people are putting their mods at and what augs they are using. Also what levels of defensive stats people are going for.

    At this point much of the BH gear is jsut mixing and matching stat for stat, not much is a straight huge upgrade, so what stats are you guys sacrificing to boost another?

    I'm setup more for PVP, but I would love to read a discussion on this. I'm sure it would provoke a lot of questions.

    Is the biggest difference in someone setting up PVE and someone setting up PVP, expertise? Is there a sweet spot for expertise to where you can start getting more strength or endurance?

    Not trying to derail your thread, but there are some folks on here who would have good ideas and knowledge about both, including you, that I would love to read their thoughts.
    Nice idea for a thread starter, unfotunately I can't contribute much.

    When I pvp I am 99% of the time in mostly tank pvp gear in a 31/9/0 spec.
    My main role is to guard, taunt, and interrupt/stu (usually healers, but I try to get the focus target too when its a good time.

    So with that said, more expertise for my role is only going to help with damage mitigation. I am not there to do more damage *tho that is nice for the dispatch/master strike* and healing received. So the difference between say 900 expertise and 1200 is only around 3-5% (?) damage reduction.

    I usually sit around 800 expertise and then stack up on hp and defensive stats.

    @ 1100 expertise = 21.5 damage boost - 17.7 dam reduction - 11.8 healing boost - 19.7k buffed hp

    @ 800 expertise = 16.5 dam boost - 14.2 dam red - 9.8 healing - buffed hp 21k

    So the differance is quite small - but with the 800 level I get both the PvP and PvE set bonus - which I like alot. So whats better? The simple answer is full pvp and max expertise - but I am not so sure. I prefer to run in the mix of pvp/pve.

    I am only wearing BM gear still cuz I hated pvp as a tank early on and still really dont like it today. So I prefer pve as a tank and other classes for pvp.

    I believe the best setup is max out War hero augmented gear, get campaign grade mods and ench and pop them into your war hero gear with the pvp armoring.

    Expensive swapping all those mods but truly is the max out. This way I bet tanks can get to 23kish hp with still around 1200+ expertise.

    Nice, detailed, and educational post. Thank you. You do ofcourse know that it is only going to elict more questions from a dummy. I too, like to pve, even FP, but I don't get asked to join groups much. Probably cause I'm not very good. I enjoy pvp and usually do it alot when I'm not on a mission or daily. My gear is mostly BM, though I do have a WH breast plate and LS in a 2/35/4 spec that I picked up from Dakken's guide. I like to tank with a group in FP, etc., but in pvp it seemed I couldn't do enough damage to survive very long as a tank. Probably because most of the time I'm a pug and don't follow a lot of strategy. I generally try to guard my team mates, but I have a tendency to attract their (opponents) two to three best toons, usually a bad ass maruader and a scoccer, with sometimes a sniper or BH to boot. Needless to say, I die rather quickly and ususally in the bottom of the stats and badges.

    Long story short, I asked about the expertise cause I hate the looks of the WH breast plate and would love to get an orange gear robe. Looks more like a Jedi. My expertise is around 1200 now, but my HP is only around 16.5k. I don't have all my stats with me to post, but I will if interested.

    I like to tank in a FP group, etc. Maybe I should do like you and pvp with another toon. Oh, and I have no idea how you broke your expertise down into the dam boost, dam reduc, etc., categories. Once again, very good and educational post. Thanks.

    If you hover over the expertise stat in your character window, it will give you the breakdowns of what it gives you.

    One thing you have to keep in mind for PvP is that your tanking stats don't work against a vast majority of abilities. There is a really good blog post about it here:
    Understanding SWTOR

    A lot of tanks (not so much Guardians because Defense Guardians do such awful damage), who actually forgo tank gear and "tank" PvP in DPS gear. It's actually the most popular and effective spec for Shadows/Assassins right now.
    60% of the time I work every time.

    I am still upset at the time to kill on a fully tank spec/geared vs. a dps spec/geared player in a tank "stance" is like a 5% difference. How dumb is that?

    It really makes no sense to me that they are pretty much forcing (tanks) us to play pvp this way. Just a shame really. I foolishly bought all tank pvp gear, so I rather than re-gearing myself I pretty much just avoid pvp all together unless some guildies are desperate for a guard and some stuns for their group.

    Its really almost not fun at all, so I dont play much pvp and am only sitting at 62 valor atm with no intentions on getting to 70 anytime soon. I would MUCH rather play ANY other class in a dps/heal role in pvp. It is far more fun.

    Dakken,
    Thanks for that link, explains alot. Having both of y'all talk about how poor our damage is explains alot, too. I played PVP at Allderaan and there was only 6 of us. We decided to just try and hold the left position and let them come to us because the sith had a full house and they were powerful. A Marauder and a Sorcerer came over and took the position from us and the the Marauder held it by himself the rest of the game. He killed all six of us over and over byhimself. Force stasis and push was worthless. Oh, and what is sabre ward good for. It doesn't seem to be much help in PVP?

    Xzyzz,
    I completely understand. I like PVP when it's competitive, but times like the above seemed to happen more and more. We began to believe the sever was hacked. They were like sith on steroids. As I said before, I just don't get a lot of LFG requests so I don't play'em much. Always happy to go when asked.

    You guys have helped an old man out a lot, I really appreciate it and I have enjoyed this thread. Wish I could contribute.

    Do you guys use mr.robot? Would be a ton easier just to link your toon that way instead of typing in all your stuff.

    I do not use mr. robot! I think I remember this site going to something like that, but actually I don't even know what it is. Xzyzz started this thread to try to find like minded people to discuss pve guardians and their stats. Unfortunately, I derailed it, but he and Dakken were kind enough to answer a few of my questions. Oh, and my stats without mr. robot are:
    hp= 16740
    accuracy= 105.56%
    armor= 7705
    damage reduction=51.64%
    def chance= 9.79%
    shield= 20%
    absorb= 20%
    Would love comments!
