I just found this article on BBC website. About how WoW is dying.
BBC News - World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria released in autumn
WoW lost 16% of its subscription base. Their major shareholder France’s Vivendi is trying to sell its 60% of Activision Blizzard stock and Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Time Warner and Tencent (Chinese internet giant) don’t want it.

Is WoW dying? No
Is SWTOR dying? No

Anybody can pick piece from an article to support their ideas. Then write their own article or post bits and piece on some forums to try and get people on their Bandwagon. This is why I ignore the doom and gloom post. What it simple boils down to be are you enjoying yourself?

I am tired of hearing ppl going on about the how select mmos are dieing I think.this games going to go far.

As for wow 16% of several million of players still leaves them several million playing lol and I am sure given time swtor will gain in numbers. I mean how long did it take wow to reach so many million?

yeah. over 10 million subs is dead. LOL And, Legendary, is apparently, starting to film the WoW movie. Unless it turns out like a Wing Commander flop, I think it will reinvigorate interest to both new and absent players.

I think, despite history, there will not be quite the surge and return of players when "KUNG-FU PANDA" is released. Personally, and I have played since just after launch, I find this whole direction absurd and even insulting to the players of WoW. I think they are introducing this just for the sake of change, not to improve the game, necessarily. That, and I thing they are targeting a very specific, very young potential customer base (hell my 6 year old has been playing - to the extant he can - for 2 years) that will devour this expansion and, hopefully Blizzard can reap their enthusiasm in an aging game and become long-term customers that are able to replace those that have left.

Some of you completely missed the point.

The point is that people pull bits and piece from a place to prove their opinion. Only using facts that support their belief. Just like all the SWTOR chicken little.

Yeah War... this is a problem with our current condition. We get data from tons of sources, it is easy to pick and choose what you want to report and what you want to ignore. Everyone has an opinion and can and will share it. Some opinions are based on bogus facts or half-truths.

Personally, I don't care if this game or that game is dying. It's a game... move on. Play it while you can. Enjoy it while you can.

Nice post...Now if you read the things I posted I never said the game was dead. I just unlike most people here noticed some very serious flaws that were causing the game as a whole to be dragged down. After the server transfers and even with the problematic LFG tool the game is infinitely better.

As for WoW well they made more than enough money on that cash cow to flip Exxon like profits compared to the cost of resources. I just can't do the whole panda thing. As soon as that was announced I cancelled my sub for the first time since vanilla.

Can you imagine the outcry if one day all the WOWites logged in and got a message that said something like "Due to the constant bitching of "this game is dead" and "this sucks..." we have decided to shutter WOW and line our pockets with fat loot. You think you can do out better? feel free! Peace... Blizzard out!"

I just unlike most people here noticed some very serious flaws that were causing the game as a whole to be dragged down.

A lot of the posters you accuse of being "fan boys" have posts across these boards and likely others about things they'd like to see implemented, quality of life features they miss from other games, and bugs and crashes they've experienced while playing.

The whole dark knight image people put on after they're caught being overly negative is ridiculous. You don't have to make claims about how a game will fail because of this, or if it doesn't get this (and fast!) to offer constructive criticism. You don't have to make assumptions about how "stupid" a company or it's membership is to offer constructive criticism either.

Especially in a game like this where the developers have been listening and implementing changes and fixes fairly quickly. Not to say there's not more people want, but BioWare has been fairly regular about pushing out SOMETHING major people have been begging for almost every month (and in some cases less time than that).

The reality is most people are being negative instead of constructive not because they want the game to fail, but because they're looking to feel validated that their concerns are shared. It's understandable human nature, but in no way necessary to the long-term health and growth of the game.

As a side note, I don't appreciate people "calling you out" here anymore either. You've actually been a fairly constructive member lately.
