Legacy GTN for ship

Just interested to see if anyone has purchased the GTN for their ship. 25 Legacy level and 5 million credits makes this an expensive convenience. But it and the mailbox were the two conveniences that I really want. Got the mailbox but can't seem to save enough creds for GTN.

I'm a little surprised they even offered this...seems to me it will really take away from the community of a MMO. For those that have a mailbox and the GTN on your ship, why would you ever need to step off that ship?? Hangin around the GTN in my experiances is where you meet other's, group up, or just chat.

Are the GTN linked yet? What I mean is, is there still a Rep, Imp, and Neutral GTN or are they all merged?

Last I heard most people thought the ship one wasn't worth it because it was the Hutt network (which people don't really use). However, I remember an interview where they'd mentioned how they plan to merge all the GTN into the hutt one (making this option much better). That was months ago, but I never heard anything about it being implemented so it still may be a big factor on whether it's worth it right now.

I am 99.97% sure they are all linked now....but don't quote me on that
Seems I read a one liner in patch notes several patches ago that simply said "the Hutts have now taken over all of the GTN networks " or something like that. I do know the Rep and Imp are linked for sure, just not 100% on the neutral. But like you said,nobody used that one anyway so wouldn't really matter.

If the Reps and Imps are selling to each other than they're all linked. The GTN on your ship is actually worth having now... if you can shell out that kind of cash. Personally, I felt like I was spending a fortune just to get the rocket boots.

I double checked on my lunch hour just for you Jetsu....Rep and Imp are together for sure. Saw some of my Imp toon's auctions with my Rep boys. The fee is not worth it to me though to have on my ship. Again, I go back to my earlier point of what would ever be the reason to leave your ship then?? I would never see anybody else lol.

I have the gtn and I love it. It took me a week of dailies crafting and farming. It looks just like a computer on a wall. It's really helpful for leveling alts. You get to a few planets where there is no gtn and its on your ship waiting for you to use. If you have only 1 toon you are probably wasting your credits because for a 50 you need to go to the fleet anyway to get your dailies so you might as well visit the gtn. Me personally though if I use it everytime I feel like crafting and dominating the market.

I suppose it depends on what you're doing. As a crafter you could probably just lock yourself away if you wanted. Pretty much anything else is going to pull you out of your ship manually(planetary stuff) or automatically (flashpoints and warzones). Also, most people will still be on the fleet for daily/weekly pickups and obviously not everyone (myself included) has 5 million to blow on the ship GTN (though that's likely to change as things progress).

kgotter hit the nail on the head I think. It would be beautiful for alts when you're constantly between planets and rarely have any reason to go to the fleet. Once you're max level and can do most things from the fleet anyway it loses a lot of its appeal since you can just stop over on your way to other things.

If you log out in your ship... your log in time is greatly accelerated.

Thats what I have a bank alt for...to help my alts buy and sell,and they can log out on whatever planet they are on. Hey is the GTN character specific? Or does it work on all your toons? For 5 mill, it better work on all of them

Thanks Soul....well then, I could almost see this as a option then for my bank alt. All she does is sit on the fleet, sell my other alt's goods, and buy and sell off the GTN. But geeze, for that price, it's just not worth it to me. It takes a LONG time and lot's of work to make that much coin.....

Imo 5 million credits to me is just to much when you think you need to be at the fleet for dailies ect
