Daily? Turalyon changed easily 2-4 times a day. It was really random though, because sometimes it would be an epic battle and sometimes it was completely one-sided (I'm guessing it had something to do with the time of day).

I did it last night. A buddy of mine finally talked me into reopening my account. This morning when I got up for work I checked the launcher and all 30 motherfreaking gigs was downloaded....

I really loath myself for doing it but I just can't deal with EAWARE anymore. They remind me of SOE during the star wars galaxies fiasco.

Honestly, I'd still be playing and likely enjoying WoW right now if everything hadn't gone cross-server. I miss the lighthearted fun of holiday events and the time-waster stuff like pet battles and archaeology. I enjoy space missions, but I've done them all so much I know where to shoot before the ships show up on screen.

I didn't quit WoW until my friends list and guild died off and all the people I met (since I mostly enjoyed dungeon runs and battlegrounds as far as random group content goes) were from other servers. Supposedly even the open world stuff is somewhat cross-server now.

I realize they have tools to facilitate guild hopping so I could always jump around and see if I stick anywhere, but I'm more the sort to join a guild because someone I like recommended it to me. In short, I'd only end up playing it like a single player game anyway (and if I want pet battles I can always fire up my Gameboy).

The short of it is: I understand exactly why you went back Count. If I had nobody in TOR and had friends asking me to play WoW I'd probably be there too. I'm just glad the other servers are doing well enough, because this community has so much more potential than what Blizzard has going now. I want to play with other players to form relationships, not just for them to fill a spot so I can get loot.

Who knows, maybe some day they'll implement BioWare's "mega server" idea and you'll actually be able to friend and guild up with anyone who plays WoW with the same server type. The name conflicts would be awful though...

I saw a couple of forum posts some where that got me thinking about WOW, but I'm not going back anytime soon.

    Hope you enjoy it Count.

I jumped in for about 10 minutes at lunch. I have no flipping idea what I am doing. It is like a new game. I have 49 pets though so they better watch out.

I thought about it. Look at it and installed it (not buying the sad panda) did a free account because I was still thinking about it. I couldn't bring myself to play it. It looks so bad.

My girlfriend is having a great time playing MoP. I just can't bring myself to play again. Not as long as faction grinding remains a part of the equation. I understand gear grinds but not faction grinding. Really? Like I care what a bunch of tree huggers think of me? But she is living the pet battle dream. She really is pushing it on me. Maybe I can leverage it into more nookie....hmmmm....

It's an MMO. The only grinding and mounting you'll be doing will be in-game because you'll have no time for anything else.

I've tried getting my girlfriend to play MMO's for years...starting with WOW and everything inbetween. She's just not interested, would rather read a book lol. I just want her to play a little while, so she can understand why a 45 year old man still loves playing computer games haha. Any suggestions on how to get your woman interested??

With my wife, I just told her you could be a profession that makes pretty dresses (she's a fashion major). Her first character was a druid tailor (she liked the starting outfit for druids best). I specifically didn't bother to explain that a leather-worker would be better for a druid, because new gamers typically aren't worried about what's "best" anyway.

Let them learn at their own pace and make sure to point out and encourage things you think they'd get excited about (pets, clothes, chatting, lore, etc...) instead of how they could improve their rotation or how they should pick up a different profession for their class. Make sure to help them when they ask for it or are getting really frustrated but it's easy to overwhelm people who are starting from the basics when you try to quickly teach them things you only learned quickly because you've been gaming for 15 years (give or take).

You could try introducing your girlfriend to SWTOR while emphasizing that the primary focus is story (since she likes books). Each character has their own interactive tale to tell and all the group content has it's own stories too. Companions are also characters with their own backstories to discover as you get them to like you. Send her some companion gifts so she can unlock a companion's story faster (preferably with a note saying that you know <companion who likes that type> really likes these). You could create a character along-side her and make sure to show her codex entries if you come across them (since they all have a little backstory to go with them).

I make no promises, but that's what I would try in your situation.
