F2P Equals more kids

Those aren't kids usually. many kids don't have, withing their psyche, the ability to act in an underhanded way. Have you ever confronted them? I do all the time. These are adults. and, quite surprisingly, dozens of players come to the NINJA'S defense when confronted. These are just adult of , what I consider, low moral character.

33 - I don't mind new players as long as they listen to your instructions. I had one situation were I was a healer and a DPS just kept pulling and spamming mobs despite me and the tank telling him to stop multiple times. His reply every time was "just keep me healed" and "I just got this game...". It's the consistent stupidity that I can't tolerate...

Again, the assumption is they are kids. I played a healer in WoW from the beginning. The idiot dps'ers always got themselves in trouble through their own stupidity or lack of concern for order. Then they would complain when I didn't heal them. Very few were kids. Responses like you claim, above, don;t sound child-like to me. This is a player who feels entitled and isn't afraid to show it. That is an adult TELLING you to keep them healed. Kids don;t respond that way, in my experience.

Lucious, Yes I have confronted some and you are right many were adults with a lack of maturity and common courtesy. But I would differ with your premise that kids don't have the psyche to act underhanded. You may want to check the crime rate for today's youth. Children are affected by their environment, good or bad.

Yeah I meant all new players and not just kids... I knew this person was an adult and that is why it pissed me off so much...I still stuck it through the FP but at the end I told him he sucks arse and put him in ignore...lol

It depends really...i havent had a problem yet in Guild Wars 2. Maybe it is just my server though? But most polls I have seen for Guild Wars 2 shows that a LARGE chuck of the player base is in their 20s and 30s...myself included...one poll on guildwars2forum.com should that 96% are above their 20s...but this is only out of a small group of 49 individuals...lol but still, from my experience...i guess it just depends...everyone knows WoW...and at a young teenage age, they are gonna wanna run to whatever is most popular...which is WoW. Lol So honestly, i think all other MMOs are gonna be fine with f2p...including SWTOR...

I'm 27 now. I was a guild officer for most of my WoW time and the one thing I'm certain of is that age has nothing to do with maturity on the internet.

We had a guy who was 17 that everyone wanted around. He was entertaining, played very well, and always seemed to be positive. I also had to deal with a lot of drama from the 20-40 year old "children" who spent all day cursing and talking about sex and drugs like it made them cool (you know, like in middle school except they never grew out of it). They'd create all kinds of loot drama and personal drama being complete jerks to other members. Obviously, there are also examples of the exact opposite in both cases.

I suspect the biggest group of idiots when this game goes F2P won't be people who haven't played the game because they didn't want to pay a subscription. It will be the ones who already played some, but now that it's 100% free for them (since they already have an account) they'll come back just to harass people. Because logging into a game you don't like to bother people who enjoy it is a sign of great personal success in real life... Either way, most of them will be "adults" in that they're well over 18.

His prediction is likely right though. People tend to get more confrontational as they get older and are more resistant to personal growth.

and my son and I have had hit or miss luck with public groups. Some of them are great and very helpful in teaching him the game. Others just get nasty and rude if you make any mistakes or don't want to run the FP the way they think it should be done. Personally, I would have gone with the tried and true "I found his lack of faith in the Farce disturbing, so he had to be repurposed." Likely to get a laugh and if not force choke him due to a lack of a sense of humor. Make sure your buddy next to you waves his hand left to right and sez "that is not a shortness of breath you feel, die alone, die alone." Twisted? Yes. Sithy? Very much so. If you are Light Side, then just put the guy on ignore.

By the way this game actually had the highest median age of all current mmo's, so the rudey poo's you are running into are likely adult whose sole purpose in life is to grief you and collect people pixels to become self validated. Never underestimate the Powah of the Purple Pixel Side. Also, his accomplice "Leet DPS Guy," whose massive 15.4 dps is only exceeded by his framerate in his 6 GPU, supercharged Core I9, 96 gb RAM, turbo water cooled, fully pimped out quadraphonic surround sound that can accurately replicate the fart of a flea super computer that he got at wal mart for a $1.50 on sale. Kids typically have more sense than adults anyways. Just an observation because at 44, I am terribly immature.

Ok, I finally got revenge this morning and it was sweet. I was at the Black Hole (Republic area) with my trooper and I was trying to slice a safe when a roaming boss came up and started shooting so I stopped slicing and commenced to kill the boss. While I did this an Imp assasin snuck up and sliced the safe before I could kill the boss. The Imp was toggled PVP so I was gonna find that sucker and kill or be killed (the 2nd would be more probable) but I lost the stealthy sucker. So I went back to my business and went and checked to see if any of the blue chests had respawned and low and behold there was the same Imp fighting 2 bosses to get the blue chest, I drove up on my speeder and took the loot while the Imp was still fighting. It felt good to pay a ninja back. I got over 4k creds while he probably got 1.5k creds, he lost that one.

I know you are saying that he was from a different faction so he wasn't really a ninja, all is fair in love and war. Well, I wouldn't have done it to my faction or the other without cause.

The worst part is a lot of these people start out stealing because someone else stole their stuff and they figure "everyone is doing it". Paying them back doesn't make them feel bad for doing it to you, it makes them feel validated.
