I was wondering what spec's are more popular with SI's. What do you plan on playing?

Assassin:

(DPS)-Madness

(PVP)-Deception

(Tank)-Darkness

Sorcerer:

(DPS)-Lightning

(DPS)-Madness

(Healer)-Corruption

DPS or Tanked in all my MMOs gonna take a serious healing role this time around an only leveling one toon to focus on.

Not sure how its going to play out but I've been leveling both dps and heal.. so far I like what im seeing

After playing a tankadin in WoW for the last few years, looking forward to hitting things from a distance with lightning. Might be willing to give Corruption a go if BW ever decides to allow addons or mouseover healing. But until such time, Lightning Sorcerer for me.

Although, seeing so few go Madness, and taking another look at madness tree....gonna have to try it out at some point.

I'll be speccing Madness for my Assassin when I go dps. Not sure how it will play out for the sorcerer though.

I have been seeing this term, mouse over healing. So I tried to look it up. I can't access any of the sites that explain it on my work PC and my youtube app won't allow me to zoom in so I can actually see what is going on in the videos. I get the impression that its something that came out after Cata dropped (an x-pac I didn't stick around for). From what little I can see of it, it looks cool. It lets you heal a target without actually clicking to target them? So you can hover your mouse cursor over them, heal them, without de-selecting your current clicked target?

It would have been nice to have back in the day, and if it could be implemented at some point in swtor I would use it. It's not absolutely necessary to heal effectively, though. It reminds me of a few times I was healing a tank like mad and their health was still dropping, only to realize that though I thought I had clicked successfully on the tank and de-selected whoever I healed last, I had not, so I was spamming a mage every 1.5 seconds with a heal that was exceeding their entire health bar.

I finished breaking a few mouses on these occasions. Alas swtor won't even provide a UI you can move around or scale, or mods to customize your own UI, so I don't see it coming out of the dark ages to allow macros in the next little bit. As a friend said to me:

"Using this UI feels like I am sitting at someone else's desk and I can't move anything. Which is fine for five minutes, but gets really annoying after a couple of hours."

I went with DPS-Lightning for my Sorcerer and I am having a blast with it.

I went deception on my assassin and not just for pvp, I stack crit and my single target damage is off the charts

I've seen rumors that curse is setting up for swtor. And also a healbot for it. I'm hybrid on the healing lightning tree right now. Each tree has a lot to offer for all the specs. Its going to be interesting to see how its played out
